Q - Does my child have to be potty trained?
A - All children at Little Pioneers School House have to be potty trained. We understand that accidents happen and for that reason we require that all children keep an extra set of clothing on site. If accidents are frequent our staff will evaluate the situation.

Q - If I am running late in the morning can my child still enter the classroom?
A - We will never turn a child away at the door, however please remember the importance of punctuality. You are establishing a pattern for their future. We allow for flexibility in the morning, with a start time from 8:00-8:30. At 8:30 circle time starts. This is an extremely important time of day for your child, this is the moment when we introduce our activities, ideas and concepts for the day, please make sure your child doesn't miss this.

Q - What if I am running late for pick up?
A - We understand that unexpected circumstances can lead to a late pickup, however it is really important that teachers are aware of this so that we can explain this to your child. It can be really confusing to your child when all other parents arrive. If you are running late please call or send a text to Miss Britt. Please also keep in mind that you will be billed for ever 15min you are late.

Q- How do you handle discipline?
A - In our program discipline is handled on a case by case basis. Obviously all situations and all children are different, therefore our policies and procedures must allow for flexibility as well. In our classroom our first goal as facilitators is to always find out what happened, and then why it happened. This means talking with students about the incident and guiding the child's understanding. It is our goal that students communicate with peers and staff about these moments. Often in early childhood education teachers can guide behavior by simply redirecting or explaining cause and effect, however there are times when more specific and serious forms of discipline are needed. If your child is placed on a specific behavior modification program we will first discuss that with the family and then implement it into our classroom.

Q - What safety precautions are taken in your classroom?
A - Safety is always our number one concern. If your child is ever involved in an incident that compromises their safety our staff will immediately alert the family. Our classrooms are fully monitored by cameras at all times, these videos can be viewed upon request. We also document all incidents in our "Classroom Incident Log".
